MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS:

There seems to be a little confusion amongst some members as to when the annual subscriptions are due and their duration. On behalf of the Board of Directors would members please note the following from our Club Rules:

 

1) (Rule 10.1) Membership fees shall be payable in advance and be due on 1st May annually.

 

2) (Rule 4.7) Membership will automatically lapse should a membership fee not be paid by 31st August each year and the lapsed member will not receive any further copies of Eastoric News. 

 

3) In addition and to comply with the Clubs' General Data Protection Regulations Policy, (copy on website), the details of members who have not renewed by 31st August will be deleted from our membership database. This is the Clubs' legal duty. (There is however no re-joining fee. To renew, all a member has to do is contact Membership Secretary Richard Dew and pay the appropriate amount.)

 

In short this means that although fees are due 1st May there has traditionally been a 'period of grace', (now enshrined in our Rules), up to 31st August for members who renew at FoT.

 

N.B. However, the membership year still runs from 1st May one year to 31st April the following year irrespective of whether the member renews on 1st May or any time up to 31st August. If a member does pay between 1st May and 31st August the fee is effectively 'back-dated' to 1st May that year. The Membership Year DOES NOT start at FoT and run until the following years' FoT.
